I was so amazed that none of my British friends ever really talked about the wedding. I was sure when the royal couple got engaged there would be some mention of it. Nothing. Not a peep. I finally asked one of my friends about it and she said it wouldn't really be a big deal until right before the wedding and then everyone would go nuts. She was totally right!
We are now in the throes of full-fledged royal wedding mania. Yesterday while I walked Caleb to his Gymboree class, I was confronted with about 20 teenagers waving flags and a group of five middle-aged women wearing awesome hats with pictures of Will and Kate on them. And this is not anywhere near Buckingham Palace or central London!
The celebration is now fully on, in full British zaniness. It's part street party, part costume party, part booze fest. Caleb and I will meet up with a bunch of friends and babies (and a bit of bubbly) to watch the wedding on a big screen in the park near our house. I will make sure to take lots of pictures so you can see all the craziness.
And, of course, the next royal wedding, the one that REALLY matters, will feature two of my favorite people:
First of all, HILARIOUS! Secondly, Geez we are cute together, aren't we? And last, (and most important) Caleb and his precious little red head would fit so well into the wedding!

PERFECT! He is about the age she is typically drawn to AND as sweet Catherine has just demonstrated, fairy-tales CAN come true. Thanks for appeasing my wedding curiosity with some inside scoop.....but I am confused, why weren't you in the Abbey for the wedding?!?! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this and can't wait for an invite to that wedding!!!!
