Travelin' Man

Caleb is quite the world traveler. His latest excursion took him to Bruges in Belgium. We stayed at the most amazing B&B- the only private home in Bruges that is a national historic site.

We decided to keep things very relaxed and didn't make a lot of plans. We mostly just walked around and enjoyed the sights, beer, food and chocolates (a huge thanks to Justin and Sara for all their great recommendations!).

On Sunday we thought it would be nice to do a bike tour. We were so sure that Caleb would love it! Wow- we were so wrong. Caleb spent the first hour shrieking. I mean full blown crying, yelling, shrieking. When we got to one of the windmills on the outskirts of town we took a break to enjoy some hot chocolate. We decided that Caleb could go the rest of the way without his bike helmet (Yes, I'm a bad mama, but there was very little traffic so we felt pretty comfortable he'd be safe). No more crying and he apparently felt so comfortable that he fell asleep.

We had amazing food, amazing beer, amazing chocolates, and a very relaxing weekend. Next time you're in Europe (what- you don't go to Europe several times a year???) make sure you add Bruges to your plans!
