Caleb's first birthday party

I'm not going to lie. I've been planning Caleb's first birthday party pretty much from the day he was born. I decided on a frog theme and everything was green and blue. I planned the food, sent out invites, bought and made decorations and just knew that everything would be PERFECT.

HA! How naive am I?? Perfect? Yes- if perfection means my poor baby waking up the morning of the party with a mild fever. And acting incredibly cranky. We figured it was just teething. We carried on with the party as planned.

Poor Caleb did not want to socialize with his friends at all and clung to us the whole time. Caleb is extremely social and loves having all his friends over to play so we continued to chalk it up to teething. Then, when it was time for the cake, he had a full meltdown. Caleb almost never cries but when we tried to get him to taste the cake he shrieked and cried like I've never seen before. About 2 minutes later he vomited all over Lee.

We went to the doctor's the next day and turns out my sweet boy had a major throat infection and had to go on antibiotics...again...

Two days later, he had an awful reaction to the meds and started vomiting again. We had to switch antibiotics and after a week of being a sick, miserable baby, Caleb is now finally back to his cheerful self.

We didn't get nearly as many pictures of the party as we would have liked, but enjoy these few we did get. And don't worry, Caleb, we'll try the cake smash another time so you can really enjoy it!

Caleb with his two friends Daisy

Why are you making me do this??

I still don't really understand what you people are doing to me

Caleb's smash cake (please ignore the runny cream cheese frosting I made. The cupcakes for everyone else looked much better)

I HATE YOU ALL!!!
