Welcome

Welcome to the Goldblatt family blog! We finally jumped on the blog bandwagon to keep everyone updated on our crazy life in London. For those of you who don't know, Lee was offered an amazing job opportunity in London so we are packing up our life in NYC and are headed across the pond. I'll do my best to update this a few times a month so you can watch Caleb grow.

Now for the details on London. We are heading out on June 19th to offically become Londoners. Lee was over in London in May and found us a great 4 bedroom brownstone. We'll be living in Wandsworth/Clapham which is apparently like Park Slope in Brooklyn. The area is nicknamed "Nappy Valley" because there are so many young families there. I'm not sure if I love or hate that moniker, but there are apparently nice cheese and wine shops nearby so I'm sure I'll be happy.

We are going to do our best to avoid taking on too many Brit-isms, like saying "flat" or "nappies", and signing emails with "cheers." Most of all, we are not going to allow Caleb to call me Mum or Mummy, which explains the name of our blog. I'm holding onto my Southern roots and will only respond to mama.

Stay tuned for more updates. And thanks for following our crazy life!

  2. Mer, Great blog so far. And I can say that with authority since I kept one too. If you think that you need a little Southern pick me up so that Baby Blatt knows his roots, then Chris and I will fly out to bring a little South to you. We'll show up on your doorstep one day and it will be awesome. I love Baby Blatt. Lo Yo

  4. Mer - I totally expect you to start calling them nappies, and bobbies, and a trunk the "boot." I've always wanted British friends, so you guys need to come through for me.

Also - Lee never said that your new house is in Wandsworth!!! I hope it's the dodgy end. (Love Actually)

    Cheers, Nikki
